KRISTIN BOCK, BODY LANGUAGE BLUEPRINTS

AVOIDING CUE-LESSNESS: How to shout, "I'm a great leader!!" without saying a word

Kristin Bock works with high-achieving professionals to tune into nonverbal cues so they can engage their teams and win more clients. Kristin—aka Woman Determined to Skyrocket Your Success Using the Science of Body Language—is the founder of Body Language Blueprints, an online platform for enhancing communication skills.

Kristin is on a mission to help leaders provide the nonverbal respect everyone wants and needs. In 2018, Bock left her job of 25+ years to pursue her love of body language and believes it’s more imperative today than ever. With workplace dynamics rapidly changing and evolving, she’s committed to teaching professionals and leaders its critical importance in building connection and promoting inclusion. Kristin believes that showing civility, including to those with differing viewpoints, is needed now more than ever. Or, as her grandpa used to say, “We’re all quirky different, so you better know how to relate!” Kristin partners with leaders to improve their self-awareness and interactions with others. She has given numerous talks about connecting with people virtually, has coached TEDx speakers, and has been featured on The List.

Kristin self-identifies as a “Nonverbal Nerd” and hopes to one day be viewed as cool by her children. She is a thought-bubble enthusiast and only once did she meet a seven-layer bar she didn’t like.

Oristela "Oris" Aguinaga, Wealth is Health

Overcoming Conflict and Adversity through Empathy

According to renowned researcher and author Brene Brown, “Empathy is the secret source of connection, it’s a choice.” Practicing empathy in the workplace, and in our personal life, can help us overcome conflict and adversity, but “it’s hard work and it requires being vulnerable” (Teresa Wiseman). The good news is that it’s a skill that can be learned.

  • Discuss the meaning of empathy along with its attributes and how it’s different from sympathy.
  • Go over the steps we can take to learn and teach empathy across our life span.
  • Practice empathy with others in the room.

Oris Aguinaga became a Health & Wellness Coach through the Mayo Clinic and started her business, Wealth is Health LLC. Today, she’s a National Board-certified and Mayo Clinic certified, Wellness Coach.

She is a native of Panama, fluent in Spanish, and married to her wonderful husband Richard. In her spare time, Oris loves traveling, gardening, learning and practicing healthy living, growing her spiritual life, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors.

Watering Dirt: Grow Personal Leadership Practices

Have you ever planted seeds and watched them grow? It not only takes seeds; it takes suitable soil, space, nutrients, sunlight, water, and an intentional gardener to thrive. It's the same for leadership. Leadership that helps people thrive in all aspects of their lives takes the same care and nurturing as the gardener gives to the seeds they plant each year. As leaders, you’ll learn to grow personal practices that water your leadership garden and create the successful conditions for others to grow, too.

Christa Williams is dedicated to “engaging and igniting the potential” in people. With more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in corporate, nonprofit, and educational settings, Christa brings servant leadership to life as an operational leader, strategist, instructional designer, and facilitator for Sophia Partners.
